Welcome to 3 Jupiter
Welcome to the summer term. I hope that you and your child are looking forward to another term of exciting learning.
I am sure that the children must be on countdown to our residential visit in June.
In English, the children have made a great start with a unit on persuasive writing. Once this is completed, we will focus on ‘Evacuees in WW2’ in preparation for our residential visit to Stibbington. This topic will include lots of opportunities for drama, role play and writing.
For Maths, we will be developing our understanding of pictograms and bar graphs, 2D and 3D shapes, time through analogue and digital clocks, including read clocks to one minute intervals. In addition,
In Science, we will be exploring the part that flowers play in the life cycle of flowering plants, including pollination, seed formation and seed dispersal and investigating the way in which water is transported within plants.
Our IPC topic is Rainforests. We will be finding out where they are located in the world, about the animals that live in them and which rainforest products we use in our everyday lives and how these link with Fairtrade. We will discover how and why the rainforests are being destroyed and find out about ways that people are trying to save them. Our art will be linked to this topic through the exploration of patterns in face painting and camouflage.
Please do keep checking back for updates, and follow us on Twitter if you aren't yet doing so - this will give you an excellent insight to all of the learning that 3 Jupiter and the rest of the school get up to.
